About the Museum
The Jenness Cortez Teaching Museum at The American Meditation Institute is a unique educational experience where art and Yoga Science come together to illuminate the creative process itself.
Founded to preserve and interpret the work of master artist Jenness Cortez, the Museum serves as a resource for students, artists of every discipline, seekers, and all those interested in understanding how creativity truly works.
Unlike traditional museums, where art is simply displayed, a teaching museum uses art as a catalyst for personal insight.
Here, each painting becomes a doorway into understanding:
• how the mind perceives
• how the Ego, Senses, and Unconscious can support—or limit—creativity
• how a receptive mind guides authentic expression
• how one-pointed attention strengthens imagination
• how creativity flourishes when mind and body are in balance
• how Yoga Science enhances innovation in every field of life

Through exhibitions, guided tours, demonstrations, and educational programs, the Museum shows how the timeless principles of Yoga Science can liberate the creative spirit—helping individuals develop clarity, focus, courage, and the confidence to express truth in thought, word, and deed.
The Museum is an integral part of the mission of The American Meditation Institute:
to teach the practical skills needed to live a creative, healthy, productive, and joyful life.
